all PoW does is ensure 51% of miners "voted" on a particular blockchain. Smaller coins with proof of work get hacked all the time. Someone spends $150 to rent a server room for an hour and gets 51% of the votes. Then they can spend their coins as many times as they want and then vote to undo their transaction.

You can get the same benefit from PoS without spending billions of dollars a year on pointless electricity bills.
