Used to mean noticing that a business is expanding and more and more people in your environment are becoming customers of that business. That's Lynch's entire approach.
Doesn't apply in 2023, last time it was successful was the smartphone/web app era which has just finished recently.
Also, the most important part of being a good investor in seeing the run coming to an end.
