the idea that you have to make 200k in california to make it is a meme. you're comfy if you're making 100k/yr in california. just don't live in the san jose area. los angeles can be expensive, but with 100k you're still comfy. when people picture california, they think of la, which is understandable, because la is very gay. san diego is ultra comfy, temperate, beautiful, and the people are white and conservative.
