50-60 million people quarantined, banned from traveling, told to limit contact. Restaurants, parks, even Disneyland closed and people are forbidden from gathering in large groups. This will continue for a week or two before (hopefully) it begins to taper off. And RIGHT when the biggest holiday week was about to begin in China.

I don't care whether or not you think this is a "happening" from a deaths point of view. But it 100% is a black swan for the markets, and will manifest later this year with retail/tourism/travel sales and consumer confidence. The world economy is inexorably connected, and China is one of (if not THE) most influential economies in the world. China goes, we all go. We were headed towards a financial crisis anyway, this just cements it.
