>A coin being used to transact with is not enough in itself to make number go up.

Actually being useful is enough to keep it from dropping to zero.

And growing demand from an expanding commercial sector organically results in a higher price over time.

In time, probably. Adoption = staying power.

>Well, you got me there, some folks still prefer monero over bitcoin, thats about it..

"Some folks" lol this are highly influential privacy gurus we're talking about here, the rest of the privacy space takes their cues from these guys.

> and let me tell you what, there's more people using bitcoin on the surface than people using monero on darknet

the darknet is permissionless, you can't be banned from the black market

the clearnet is not permissionless, you can be banned from the white market.

In other words, if and when CBDCs are given a monopoly and crypto is shut out of the mainstream economy (white market), who will accept your Bitcoins in exchange for goods & services?

>My conclusion, bitcoin is still winning isnt it?

Depends on what you mean by winning. Monero's adoption by black markets means it isn't at risk of being rendered useless by a CBDC white market monopoly.

>Monero will never catch up, its been her for fucking 8 years and still...

lol Monero-only markets have only been a thing since late 2020, things are just getting started..

>The Monero general is full of moon kiddies who think it'll pump someday or flip Bitcoin. Sad retards

XMR is currently flipping Bitcoin in real-world markets Bitcoin had dominated for 10+ years, which certainly inspires confidence in future prospects.

>The narrative of btc people coming to these threads is slowly changing.
>First they would not even acknowledge monero tech.
>Now we are at the copium "well atleast we still have X..".
>Slowly but surely.

lol I still remember them *confidently* claiming that Monero-only markets would never be a thing because muh Bitcoin is irreplaceable hahahahaha

Declining? Maybe check out what the stats were like just a year ago lol

what's actually bullish is Monero's uncanny ability to make real-world PERMISSIONLESS markets ditch BTC and adopt XMR exclusively.

Any markets that are not truly permissonless i.e. mainstream markets will end up enforcing the inevitable monopoly that will be granted to state-issued CBDCs.

In other words, BTC losing adoption in permissionless markets makes it wholly dependent on adoption in permissioned markets, which doesn't exactly inspire long-term confidence.

>it's like you get paid in some weird black market money

As has already been established, the black market is not interested in LN.

As history shows, retarded clown markets don't have staying power. Demand from real-world markets selling actual goods & services is therefore the ONLY thing that matters in the long term.

Yet another Monero-only market has just launched. I'm starting to see a trend developing here.....

....and the conquest of the darknet continues....

Yet another Monero-only market has just launched! Say hello to Mercury Market. And then spare a thought for all the poor deluded Bitfags who *still* believe the killer combo of muh CoinJoin + muh Lightning Network will somehow win the day.

Fact is, BTC had its throat slashed open the day WHM went Monero-only and its slowly been bleeding out ever since, at some point in the near-future the last BTC-accepting DNM will disappear and then the maxipads can have fun trying to explain why "muh hardest money ever created" can't even get the time of day in the only real-world commercial sector the cryptosphere has.
