>Also what about other metals?

Pewter. Tin is a relatively valuable (~$9/lb) and especially easy to handle base metal. At 92% tin or higher, pewter items like platters and pitchers weighing several pounds are worth collecting if you find them for a buck or 2 at thrift stores or flea markets. Melt them down, pour 1lb pewter bars then sell them on eBay to toy soldier and trinket casters for $10-12/lb.

Trust me it's pretty slick, most people totally ignore pewter and it adds up fast.

Anyone have predictions regarding the trajectory of industrial metals? Because they're easy to melt down I've passively stacked lead and pewter (tin). Lead seems to be seeing decreasing usage and demand but tin is clean/safe and has always been a relatively valuable base metal, almost like "the poorer man's silver".

Pewter is generally 92% tin and above, I've seen up to 97%, and at $17,545.00/ton or about $9 a pound it adds up.

There is plenty of competition for silver at sales/markets but many overlook pewter and often big wall chargers or pitchers weighing pounds can be had for a buck or 2. You can literally just melt it in a pot on a stove if you wanted, then pour ~1 lb bars to sell on eBay for $10-$12 each to people casting nontoxic toy soldiers or whatever.

Scrapping silver is sexier but hoovering up cheap tin is something else to do when out hunting around for more exciting things, there is definitely a market for it and it's very easy to work with.
