Spaniards have the most asinine work shifts in the world.

People enter at 9:00 and by 11:00 they take a 30 minute break to eat.

By 14:00 they go home to eat and sleep.

By 17:00 they go back to work and finish at 21:00. They eat dinner at 23:00 and go to sleep after midnight. If by chance they smoke, they take smoke breaks every hour.

It's asinine. Their entire day is consumed by their work schedule and yet they manage to work less hours and be less productive, despite having a lot of breaks.

A side effect is that children, the poor bastards, stay in school from 9:00 to 17:00. And a lot of times they're left in "extracurricular activities" up until 21:00.
