Blog post incoming because I need to get it off my chest.
/biz/ is probably going to shit on me for this post, but I just want to send a warning to those that might be in a similar situation to where I was at this point in last cycle.

The start of the bull coincided with the onset of bipolar-schizophrenic symptoms. I was once a relatively normal cyborg on track for normie life - had a decent STEM wagie life, gf, etc. I was drawn back to 4chan after a long hiatus and for some reason /biz/ called to me (it was so much better back then). Naturally, I was redpilled on wagie and fiat scams, grew deeply disaffected, and became a staunch stinker. In short, I became based.

Simultaneously, I started seeing magic numbers everywhere and grew increasingly paranoid that I was being followed and that all my friends and family were in on it. Once covid got thrown in the mix, all the NPCs in my life were revealed and meme magic really went crazy (WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER), I began to feel Chosen, like I could do nothing wrong, and every decision I made was destined to succeed.

I wound up impulsively gambling it all away based on the magic numbers, threw away relationships with my good-hearted if NPC friends, and essentially failed immensely. Though I’ve clawed my way back to semi-normality by now, there is a deep emptiness inside of me to this day.

What I’m trying to say to those who need to hear is that if you are feeling any type of similar way, just keep yourself in check. I’m not saying the /biz/pill is wrong, or that the patterns don’t mean anything, or that there isn’t a great game afoot. Just don’t go full delusional and manic. If you do feel this way, it might be worth talking to someone about it, or at least journaling and doing some metacognitive practices to keep yourself in alignment. Stay based, but don’t lose it fully. We need people like you to succeed, and that means we need you clearheaded.

My broker has some stuff packaged in like Morningstar and similar. I don't use any of it aside from the news feed. I don't find it helpful for the way I trade. It doesn't seem to be particularly helpful for long hodl approach either. Morningstar is very fond of heavily basing its ratings on what it determines to be fair value, which in practice has little or zero correlation with the price action of any given stock.
