The value ($) in smart contracts utilizing chainlink api feeds needs to be collateralized to whatever degree the customer wants. Some want more some want less, and collateralization rates vary across different financial projects and of course remain to be seen for the new use cases chainlink makes possible. The key take away is that nodes will have to keep enough chainlink staked to satisfy the collateral requirements of the contracts and customers that node services. I believe this essentially will create a fundamental floor of sorts in regards to price once adoption happens outside the crypto industry. Right now, chainlink services the majority of the crypto space which is all in the same macro crypto cycle. Once other markets are running on smart contracts powered by chainlink, and they absolutely will be, chainlink will decouple from the crypto market entirely.
