I got into it after watching Men Who Stare At Goats and looking up Project Stargate and Grill Flame and reading about the SRI experiments, there used to be threads on /x/ where people would practice and there was a FB paranormal group where there were some practice threads as well.

I don't claim to be expert or anything but i have gotten a good number close "hits" where I described the target pretty closely and one time i got 3/5 sites correct, and the other two were kind of correct.

First you put yourself in kind of a calm trance state, I do this by focusing on my breath and trying not to think, and relaxing each part of my body consciously (i.e. first relax toes and feet, then ankles, then calves...)

using hemisync binaural beats things (like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOnn4H5lEaY)) is another strategy to get your brainwaves entrained- in fact, that's what binaural beats were invented for, true story.

then when i'm sufficiently relaxed and feel myself slipping into a trance state i will look at the coordinates or whatever i'm being given to work with and focus on it, and consciously go to the time and place i am trying to learn about.

at this point, impressions will sort of spontaneously appear in your head, and you can sketch them. i have found that it is best not to try to interpret them, just record them with as little analysis or interpretation as possible (which is pretty tough desu, our brains do a lot of interpreting)

the images and sensations vary in intensity and especially sounds/smells/tastes are weird because you aren't really hearing/tasting/smelling
