This. One of my best friends is a network security guy for a major casino in the area, he makes a ton of money and he's a highschool dropout. He probably spent less than $3,000 on the equipment and literature needed to get where he's at today. There's a ton of opportunity in IT because they look for thing like certifications as much or moreso than degrees that are outdated two weeks after they're earned.
