The US tech sector is a weird animal. It's not like a good industrial, supermarket chain, basic material etc. where you invest in good companies or think about long-term trends. Every company is shit, run by normies and outright dystopian to a level where I'm not sure I want them to have my money, look at Google - who the fuck enjoys using their products with all the constant demands for your data and tied functionality? Who can look at their main revenue and thinks it's still sustainable or that the model hasn't become immediately outdated by AI?

I feel really old when I look at this stuff but I also know the tech sector I'd want to invest in would by definition not be profitable. I'm thinking of giving up stock picking in tech and just settling into a tracker because I know the companies are all bad but I also know they'll still somehow make money.
