And renting doesn't really help either. If I want a place that's big enough for two kids, I'm also looking at rent that eats up so much money that 200€ left over at the end of the month will be a are occurence. And I'm not even talking about anything that would be considered large or luxurious. Those (e.g. something with a garden for the kids) is strictly in the unaffordable territory.
Guess if my wife had a well paying job it could work, but then we'd need to put the kids into daycare 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, and while I'm no >muh traditional values homeschooling autist (I actually believe that early interaction with other kids is good for kids!), I don't need kids if I only have them for the weekend!
But OK, let's assume we'd put them to daycare anyways, but guess what: It's almost impossible to get a place, because they can't find people working that job.
Guess what again: No one wants to do that job, because the pay's shit and you can't afford life with that job.
