At least you have your degree...? I'm 26 and going back to college next week (again) because I dropped out like a moron to fall for another equally worthless scam. I would accept my fate but I don't enjoy making $16.5/hr doing the most repetitive shit on the planet for 8 hours a day. Realistically anon what are the chances of your video game gaining enough traction to earn that much money and what timeframe are you looking toward?

I know nothing about game design sales but if you need the bare minimum to survive let's assume even $1,000/mo. Since you're on your own I'm guessing the price of the game is likely between $1-10 depending on quality, which means you're looking at a few hundred people purchasing the game per month. Sounds like it's a pretty complex game as well if you have interactable objects and character classes. Oddly enough people scrutinize games more if they have more complex features meanwhile games that are so simple a stay at home mom enjoys playing them often see the most success (candy crash, puzzle games, one click needed games that require almost no skill but are somehow addicting and take up time, etc.) If your game you are currently making falls through don't give up and instead try a more simple option? This is just my guessing, I've never so much as made a finished app myself though I would like to make games as well.
