It seems that billions of dollars of existing BTC Quarterly Futures already settle on OKEx and BitMEX in the next 5 days. What if these two new regulated futures exchanges are part of a pincer strategy to seize control of the market from the people who run it at OKEx? You shouldn't underestimate the impact of OKEx futures on the underlying markets. The books there are THICC. They have two chances this month to seize control and if phase 1 today goes well, phase 2 will seal the deal. If they get undermined today, CME will be the backup strategy. Does this seem likely? Are THEY trying to steal control of the market from the big players on OKEx? Are they all just happily working together to ride the parabola because we new paradigm now?
