OP here. Holy shit, I went to the futures site to confirm the fees and saw that the difference for profit was between buylist vs market, which means if you short a card it has to go under half it's value, because half it's value is breaking even, and if it goes up, it has to double as that's considered the break even point.

I also googled the futures website too and people are warning it's a scam site (you give them money, then before contracts expire they can just end your account or pack up and leave). That is crazy scummy, just wow... I mean, I always knew investor money was starting to hit the MTG scene ever since we saw reserved list cards hit gigantic functional market caps and everyone who was in looked like they were getting rich, but wow this is a new low.

Also, if MTGFutures is a scam, how do we report it to the government?
