Welcome to the club OP, I only started a couple of days ago. General rule of thumb for security is to invest in solid, high market cap coins when you can get them at a lower price. Don't fuck around with low cap shit unless you're okay with losing that money in the hopes of hitting a moon.

My portfolio of a few hundred dollars because also a poor wagecuck is split up along the following lines.

60% ETH
10% ADA
10% XLM
20% VEN
And then a smattering of inconsequential smaller stuff like DOGE, also $10 in BTC because Coinbase gave it to me.
