>finally got a job that lasted at the tail end of my 20s, both me and my mother are working so we're comfortable and we can get the house fixed up like she wanted for years
>mother is now in her 60s and she's relatively healthy but she's definitely getting some of the more minor difficulties of old age now
>know I will have to financially and directly support her eventually
>realise I need to save for the long term
>putting into a pension for myself and also a savings account and now also trying out this stuff on top of the savings, so we hopefully have a nice pool of money for when she's no longer working
