it wasn't even that kind of fork since segshit was added whether you wanted it or not (a softfork). i bet you would pull that excuse even if the devs added an opcode that literally stole bitcoins and gave it to the miners, then "bitcoin is still BTC because most miners went with it". no, you fork off bitcoin if some toxic devs take over the project and ruins the whole progress.

you keep going on and on about craig being faketoshi and posting the same subpar images over and over when this isn't even about him, it's just about preserving bitcoin and the original idea of bitcoin not hitting a scale ceiling on-chain. fine if you're on the BCH side i guess but if you honestly believe BTC with it's crippled 1 MB blocks and non-BTC exclusive stillborn lightning network will ever go anywhere then you're crazy. store of value and "bitcoin isn't for poor people", the BTC side is mad. i hope BTC makes the max blocks 300k like they are talking about now because it would make it die off even quicker.

what matters is the total accumulated proof of work, the longest chain actually means the strongest chain. satoshi did say that this was worded poorly in the whitepaper but it was never updated.

what matters is the part at the top of https://cash.coin.dance/ which is currently:
>Bitcoin ABC is currently 52.3% ahead on proof of work.

as long as SV never gets over 50% of the current total BCH hashrate they will never catch up

a "checkpoint" is a hardcoded hash for a block height. it basically tells the client to completely ignore a chain if the block at a specific block height does not have a specific hash.

so SV can still re-organize blocks after the checkpoint but ABC clients will reject the chain if any previous blocks have been modified (it changes the hashes of all following blocks, including the hash of the checkpoint)

hate twitter, they have made it so that you cant screenshot the whole thread using firefox's built-in "take a screenshot of the whole webpage" feature.

a site have to jump through hoops to make a webpage that looks like a webpage but isn't actually functioning like a normal webpage

we don't need VISA levels today. the 1 MB block just got full at the end of 2017.
what we did need was 2 MB blocks. it's not smart to try to scale for something that might be needed in 50 years while completely neglecting the actual needs of today.

If you have anything positive to say about your investment you better say it for your own sake. I'm not the only one reading this and you're not helping Lightning Network or BTC by hiding valuable information. Everybody reading will just assume you were lying and you hurt your investment.

already happened, BTC is a dead man walking. only reason the prices are like they are is because of ignorance. people "investing" in BTC dont care about the stagnation of BTC, that merchants are abandoning it. they just care about making a quick buck and dont actually use it to buy stuff or donate to people. i know that's 95% of /biz/ but i doubt that people working on bitcoin can bring BTC back from the dead now, the damage is permanent
