Your language proficiency in at least 2 languages. That's right; It's so pointless, yet even a minuscule mention of it in the middle or bottom of your resume will be noticed by your employer should they happen to also speak the language/s you write down. I put it under my miscellaneous skills in my resume just to fill up space, but during one of my latest interviews the interviewer brought it up and I was surprised. We conversed in another language for about a minute and our heritage which was just enough for the interviewer to say afterwards "You're already hired in my books". I laughed that statement off, but a few days later got a call saying I got the job. No kidding, it's going to be irrelevant 95% of the time but if you happen to be interviewed by someone who shares your proficiency in a particular language, you might just strike gold. You only need one tiny dot point that's not even 5 words long, and that might just be the push that will open your career paths.

So, Anon- tell us a little bit about you. What makes you unique and different from the other 100 candidates?

Do you have any hobbies?

I have a job interview on Monday, as a Media Sales Consultant for my local newspaper. Basically I would be responsible for selling advertising to businesses on the paper's website. I have no experience in "real" sales, I have worked retail before and have extensive customer service experience but have never had to go out and actually get the sale.

What kind of questions should I expect for a position like this? What are some things I can do to improve my chances?

I've got an interview at a large PE firm next week.

Anyone know what those firms' interviews are like?
