I can't really take a sharper pic but I got this yesterday and it has a tiny brown spot in the U (in 'cunt').
Apparently copper residue on the surface can oxidize and this is rare for gold but natural and harmless and can be safely ignored.
However I also read that some chemicals do corrode gold and basically the whole thing smells like cigars. The case, the capsule, even the coin itself. The small paper card inside is yellowish so it seems like this has been in the hands of a smoker for a couple of years.
So I'm divided whether the impurity on the coin is due to residue copper or of the gold itself is damaged from the toxins in tobacco smoke.

Should I try to clean it and if so what are the best methods for cleaning gold? I tried to brush it with a cotton swab but it doesnt come off. But even if it's copper corrosion there is still a chance that there are harfmul tabacco chemicals attached to the coin that may cause damage in the future.
