There is a notion that any price anchoring == paid shill.
In the presneeze ppl were waiting for prices around 1000 as that was a big feat by itself, of course as many can remember, buy button was turned off and 1000 dolarinoss never happened.
In the following months, people realized, that 1000 was just a meaningless number, it was just a big number where everyone makes a shitton of money. They also realized that if 1000 was meaningless, why not a bigger meaningless number? 1 000 000 dollars for one share was born. Infinity squeeze theory explored more.
This led to even bigger and bigger numbers.
Reddit started believing immediately. It took a little more time to reach here. I think it was around April. Locals still thinking in terms of thousands or ten thousand and reddit scrapers already believing bigger and bigger numbers.
I will now mention a broader insight of mine:

This coincides with superstonk being born. (It is almost a fact, that mass migration to superstonk was sussy and that was later confirmed, the discourse has been had and ppl settled on being on all gme subs)
Now, let us notice the transformation.
Before anyone holding stock was part, now anyone disrespecting giant meaningless numbers is marked as a paid shill.
Options are the thing that caused the presneeze as we later found out. Before? retard gambler. Now? Shill. Only holding stock is the only true way.
Language? WSB slang was first to go. The everlasting cringe of ss slang was born.
Mentality? Making shitton of money was the first prio. Now? Fighting hedgies. (note: I mention this as not that fighting hedgefucks is bad, but rather the denial of reality that this is not ppl vs evil hedgefucks, but rather ppl plus evil hedgefuck vs evil hedgefucks.)
Ledditjannies? Before shiteaters. Now for some reason respected individuals. (One thing 4chan is immune to due to nature of itself)
Then came the tweets, god bless schizos as a new weapon was introduced.
