Ok. People like clean numbers. Also, the two decimal places is limited to your broker. It can go to the fourth or fifth. Insert: Law of Near Enough and Law of Truly Large Numbers

Now, to the whole "Day Trading" thing...
You know that guy who died because of the insane margin debit he had? That's why there's a limit. People can develop a problem quickly with these markets, and Uncle Sam doesn't want a problem on his hands (look at censorships, drug criminalization, lack of brothels everywhere). The U.S. society as a whole feels guilty about making easy money, and that feeling bleeds into various facets of behavior. In addition to this, the American system IS SLOW. Hell, electronic trading made its way to retail (Institutional had it already for about 30 years) in the early 2000s, but do you know when the settlement time (established for a long time) changed from 3 days to 2 days for a stock trade? 2017

Another thing to point out: 1% of $1mil = $10k
1% of $10k = $100. It's EASY to think you're being fucked over if Schmo RichBags made $10k real quick but Anon Burgerface only made a dirty Benjamin
