I have multiple gigantic freight trains roll through my town every day. Trains are profitable when moving large quantities of freight long distances, or in subways in extremely dense urban environments that don't have basketballians wrecking the system and making them unapealing for the entirety of social strata. Every other form of rail transport is inefficient, ineffective, and grossly subsidized. Self driving cars are the future, public rail would be a stupid investment at this point. It would make more sense to spend 2 trillion making dedicated lanes for self driving.

It's going to be a motherfucker for the whole West when we are forced back on the gold standard because of central bank mismanagement. The real question is, why would they want to? I had the privilege of living there for a year in the late 2000's. Maximum comfy thanks to their society wide racism and xenophobia. I was good to experience a fraction of what being a nigger must be like even though I'm white and it convinced me completely that homogeneous ethnostates are the only long term solution to long term social well being despite whatever the economy may be doing.
