SKYWIRE ADOPTION PLAN

When fully deployed, Skywire provides direct access to the Internet backbone. In order to achieve this, Skywire must provide:

• Short-range connectivity between nodes in densely populated regions
• Long-range wireless connectivity in sparsely populated regions
• Backhaul connections to the fiber backbone

These goals are achievable with existing technology. Skywire will use a phased approach to roll out the network.

Phase 1: Testnet
The first phase is already underway. A software-based testnet has been live since late 2017.

Phase 2: Mainnet
The second phase marks the official launch of the mainnet and the beginning of real mesh network capabilities. Skywire nodes will connect to each other over WiFi and share bandwidth. Both short-range and long-range wireless antennas will become available during this phase, enabling node peering over distances up to 5km and 15km

Phase 3: Backhaul
Backhaul traditionally refers to the portion of the network that connects the network edge and the main backbone. In Skywire, backhaul refers to the connection between the wireless meshnet and a fiber connection point. Once backhaul connections are implemented, the meshnet no longer depends on Tier 3 ISPs.

>I don't see them reaching a adoption rate anywhere close to the amount needed to reach critical mass. More than likely some company like Google, Facebook, Tesla or Apple will come out with mesh routers and take the largest share of the market. Just give it some thought: Not even 5% of US population uses Crypto yet - It takes a 3-4% minority to kick start a status quo - SkyCoin is at less than 0.5% of the entire Crypto market cap. For SkyCoin to take off we'd need this to be a top 5 coin and Crypto to be something used every day by average people.

The beauty of Skycoin is that it doesn't need to appeal only to crypto adopters. It will appeal to anyone who wants free Internet. They don't even need to know about the blockchain/cryptocurrency in the background. All most people will see is a cheap box they plug in to get free Internet with no censorship, no ISP spying on them, fully encrypted, no dropouts, no bandwidth throttling, and even available in undeveloped countries with minimal traditional ISP coverage.

You're over-shilling this, pajeet. I think the real game-changer is gonna be Sky because it's gonna change the internet, not just some minute technical point about crypto inter-operability.

Skycoin is unironically the sleeping giant of 2018. The great thing is that barely anyone has heard of it. Normies don't even know it exists, and it's not on any big exchanged meaning the price is heavily suppressed. When this thing hits Binance and they ramp up their marketing the price is going to rocket like no coin we've ever seen before. Very low circulating supply so Skycoins will be hoarded. Skycoins generate Skyhours very fast, and that's what will be spent, so once people buy Skycoins they're never going to let them go. Demand will outstrip supply on a level that will blow your mind.

>to 50 dollares
It's going to pull an EOS and return to that ATH next month, and then surpass it.
Devs have been working on Skycoin for 5+ years, building it to the point of perfection. They're not dumping anything.
This is literally the comfiest long-term hold in the entire crypto market. It will dethrone Bitcoin in the end.
