lol I started with /b/ back when this site first came into being and I'm now 31.
Decided to stop being poor and came to /biz/ in 2015 and have lost more money than I care to talk about.
I want to leave this board, but I want to stop eating rice and beans...
I still visit /ic/ and /ck/ frequently, but neither of those skills will earn me money.

When the last recession hit:
>gas prices went up
>basic consumer goods prices went up
>college tuition prices went up
>housing prices dropped
>job opportunities dropped

5-7 years after the recession:
>gas prices go back down (kind of)
>price of basic consumer goods stays up
>college tuition prices stay up (but more idiots are encouraged to get photography degrees)
>housing prices shoot way the fuck up
>rent rockets up because nobody can afford a house
>job opportunities shoot way the fuck up, but not really because they're all minimum wage-tier now (and require a college degree)

Who did this affect? We can now see that the middle class is dead, and the gibsmedats have grown exponentially. We can also see that anyone with large amounts of capital was largely unaffected and profited further from the recession.
It's the only one I've been through and I was a 19 year old who had just been kicked out of the house for listening to 'the devil's music' by my boomer father.
I basically have no money now and no way to profit if another recession hits...
I see the pattern, but I do not have the capital available to buy up slums and charge money for people to shit in them.
How do I survive the next (inevitable) round?
