Tiger global was the single largest shareholder (not even counting tigercubs) in Apollo Global during Jan 2021 10x the next highest, they later boost this up by another $900 million. The amount of shorts these Apollo owning tigerfunds had between their groups far outstrips Melvin's. GME shorts had control of AMC via Apollo Global's Adam Aaron, that's why they picked AMC to hedge with.

Tiger Global was buying up lots of Apollo since 2016/2017, single largest stakeholder until last quarter where they sold $2 billion in Apollo equity. If these tigercubs are/were all Apollo longs too, I wonder what % stake the tigers cumulatively held in Apollo at the peak?
