depends on your surface operators skills. If your a total greenhorn to operating, you might not even get on a piece of machinery for a while, until your shift boss and supervisor think your safe enough to handle the gear your working around.

Working UG is very different than on surface, every turn has to be thought about, backing up is a chore that you will be doing all the time. Radios may be present but usually everything is digital communication with wifi setup throughout the workings.

If your already pretty good on say a loader or haul truck on surface, they may put you in a truck first and than switch you every few days between scoop tram (loader) and haul truck. You may also find yourself in a drill crew doing stope work, borring production or cable bolt holes with a "PLH" like pic related. Get ready to be thrown at all sorts of strange and often antiquated gear.
