Anyone who received even a rudimentary education in philosophy knows that it is not possible to establish the truth of statements like these:
>there is no way to implement contracts that pay out based on an observed state without a trusted source.
>A completely decentralized system can only function well when agents have no stake in it.
You cannot prove a general negative in this form. You can prove that a theorem is false but you cannot prove universally that something cannot be done.

>So why the ledger? Well, having a ledger of which node said what and when is useful for auditing, which is necessary for staking to work. Imagine a situation where the DON has sent some wrong data to a contract, resulting in a hack. The dust has settled, and you now know what the real data (say, the data about ETH price in a given moment) should have been. Now it's time to punish the nodes that lied. Where are you going to get the historical data to find out who lied?

NEET NODES ARE BACK ON THE MENU! THANK YOU ANON!

And holy smokes, that's such a simple solution to solving the centralization/permissioned concern of the Chainlink Network. You have to be vetted before you can access mainnet to ensure everyone is able to maintain a certain behavior. I figured when staking comes into play in full form, that's when they'll open the floodgates and let anyone run a node. But the logistics in maintaining a record of a node's past history slipped my mind.

Fantastic insight all the way through.

You wont listen to this advice though, you'll squander it and KYS when link moons because you cant play the long game

For the love of god anon put it in Chainlink, right now. You could get over 8000 link; enough to be a millionaire many times over by 2026. This I assure you. Do not listen to fudding bulgarians and pajeets, Link is going to change the world and will make linkies rich, it might happen sooner or later but it WILL happen and it is the most promising and most developed project in crypto right now. All you have to do is buy it and hold it and thats it. No matter what, no matter how fucked your life is or what mistakes you make, as long as you hold link and do not sell early you WILL be a millionaire in a few years time. THATS IT. YES, IT IS THAT EASY. I say this because I know you are not going to listen to me with your arrogant midwit brain and think you know better, and youll bungle this 50k on some shitcoin or youll use it on leverage or some other retarded thing, but truly, TRULY, all you have to do is buy and hold link. Please anon I speak from my heart here i am reaching out to you, just do this, no one will ever give you better financial advice in your entire fucking life
