I work in manufacturing; controls/PLC/automation specifically. You could definitely swing into Data Science or Cybersec which are pretty hot right now. I worked IN a plant for years doing PLC work and now have an extremely cozy corporate gig where I consult on automation projects at various plants, but don't actually go there. stay in the plant a couple more years, learn from your technicians and operators, then pivot to something that you can do more "remotely".

I unironically just bought a 3700x and an X570 mobo - I'm excited. I am keeping my GTX 1070 for now - haven't paid too much attention to the GPU market so I'm not sure what to get next, I guess a 3070 when they come out?
