>BAT
basic attention token, connect to the Brave browser. Basically one of the only original ERC20 (on the ethereum blockchain) tokens that has a working product and has survived 2 bears markets. LINK falls into that category as well

people see value in BAT because it is directly used by/connected to a growing product (Brave browser has 50 million + monthly active users) and because in order for Brave to function, it involves buying BAT so advertisers can run their ad campaigns. So it has real world utility + built-in buy pressure.

Have fun losing your money on this Reddit trash when BAT chads are literally mooning. You know, something which is actually undervalued and has a function.

Anyways everyone download and use Brave www.brave.com - free BAT just for browsing the internet. You're a pajeet third worlder if you don't use it.

All valid points. Personally I work in the legal field, so I'm much more focused on that kind of FUD. Paying close attention to what's going on with Ripple/XRP. You can imagine (at least in court) that Brave/BAT could be compared to Ripple/XRP some day, so I'm keeping an eye on that.

As far as advertising mass adoption goes, I'm a total pleb. All I can say is that from a layman's perspective, I love the advertising platform on Brave and can never see myself going back to any other sort of online advertising, ESPECIALLY any that harvests/stores my information on some shady third party servers without my consent. Just seems like such a dinosaur way of doing things. Needs to become extinct soon.

>BAT has seen stunning results since its integration into the Brave browser’s first global private ad platform: 22.2 million monthly active users, 7.4 million daily active users, 1 million verified creators accepting BAT, millions of wallets created, thousands of ad campaigns with leading brands, and growing utility in the most innovative names in blockchain gaming. The results make BAT one of the most, if not the most, successful alt–coin projects to date.

BAT is the real deal. A cryptocurrency built into a privacy focused browser, with constantly improving utility.

BAT needs to break 50 cents to break out of the downward USD trend since the bubble. Highly improbable chance of happening.

I don't think Brave's success necessarily relies on the immediate failure of Facebook/Google. It relies on their failure over time, and not necessarily the COMPANY'S failure, but rather the advertising models of these companies.

Their advertising models are already in constant flux and decline. They've been proven fraudulent and unsustainable over and over. People are pretty constantly catching on to the harmful data harvesting that has been going on.

This shit is a slow burn, but if Brave/BAT can keep chugging ahead, and the BAT ecosystem can really take off, then we'll have a slow shift to a new way to use the internet. Might never happen, and if it does it'll take like a decade.

Anyways that's my take. Doesn't mean BAT will ever be worth shit, though.

>BAT is not supposed to be an investment brainlet. Its an utility token to be used.

that's correct, but a lot of your analysis seems to be wrong. BAT isn't meant to have one single use (bought by advertisers & subsequently sold by users); they want the token to be the fuel in the entire browser's ecosystem. BAT for paywalls, purchases for goods & online services using BAT, BAT used in online gaming, etc. There's a lot they want to explore with BAT that will drive up demand.

Also speculation and holding is always going to be a quintessential part of any cryptocurrency. I do admit BAT encourages a lot more selling of the token than buying of it, at the moment. And I do admit the supply is massive (but unlike XRP, it's CAPPED/LIMITED and Brave still has a metric fuckton of BAT left in the UGP that is going to be distributed for free and sold. That being said, they're creating and stabilizing the ecosystem while they still can.

BAT going up in price wouldn't ruin the ecosystem they're creating, it would only make it more desirable. That's why I think price will eventually go up.

It's funny/interesting to see. It's like they have to censor themselves every time they discuss Brave because they love it but are caught up on BAT.

I wonder if the tide will ever turn and bitcoin maxis/other shitcoin holders realize BAT was a good idea all along. Brave will need mass normie adoption before that sets in, I suppose, if it ever does.

No, they actually refuse to comment on the price of a single BAT at all.

There was a quote from Brendan Eich (CEO of Brave) in which he stated a hypothetical where the price of BAT would be around the value of a cup of coffee. That hypothetical was taken by people back in 2017/2018 and turned into the "Price of BAT will only ever be the price of a cup of coffee" and then memed into "Price of BAT will never be more than $1". It's a meme. BAT could go down to $0.01 and could go up to $100, just like any other token. But the Brave team isn't allowed to speculate on the price of BAT.

I think long term it helps - theoretically the more people earning/holding BAT decreases the supply. More advertisers buying BAT through campaigns increases demand. But I'm not really well versed on BAT's tokenomics.
