Boomer style exchanges, like CME and Wall Street, don't run 24/7. Thus, a spike in trading during their off hours is always recorded as happening at the exact moment the exchange opens again.

If the price has changed significantly, a "gap" this thus recorded on the price charts between last close and first open. That's it. Retards, however, think some sort of Chart Magic has just happened, rather than there just being a period during which that particular exchange wasn't recording prices.

Then, reversion to the mean or just ordinary price fluctuations will eventually return the price to somewhere within this "gap" whereupon retards will shout that the "gap" has been "filled," sort of like rolling a die until you hit a 6 and then shouting that you predicted that roll.
