Tweak your TA stuff some. I know it's hard to get indicator based TA to work properly under crabby conditions. My solution is pretty dumb tbhfam. My leading indicator is a two line crossy style and I just made the lines fatter so when they're close together it just reads neutral instead of weak bullish or weak bearish. Signal only valid when the one line visibly peeks out from under the other and stays that way in to a daily close.

Predicting a future trend like that is more of a fundamental thing based on anticipated catalysts. TA on a longer time frame than day trade is more about identifying when a trend has already started and hopping in as early as your widgets let you. You can use TA to try to make a prediction without any clear evidence, for instance buying a stock that has flatlined in anticipation of breakout, but that's lower percentage success rate and is tantamount to a coin flip entry.
