There's a chance you're right.
And there's also a chance that the banks will get bailed out in some way and normal people will not get the benefit you mention. Do you really think (((the banks))) are going to let normal mortgage holders off the hook that easy when they run the system?
And who knows what dystopian laws are coming?
I maintain that owning your own home outright is the safest position to be in right now. Maybe it doesn't have the most theoretical financial upside, but it might be the safest.
