For you as an American not much. JPow's insistence on raising rates on the face of economic pain is saving us from what Japan is currently suffering. If this trend continues then the federal government will be forced to change laws to cut "mandatory" spending (aka gibsmedats) to avoid a sovereign default, since we're not cutting military spending in the middle of an expensive proxy war.
