That was my point. People seem to think the internet makes friend-making trivial for the outcast/neet when it is still, in fact, non-trivial. The lack of touch and face-to-face adds more barriers. Also, text is an extremely attenuated medium. People spout the same bullshit overly simplistic advice of 'just put in more effort bro' without any strategy. I'm saying you need, like all relationships, prestige, internet points, status, whatever you want to call it. People who respect themselves want to be friends with those they respect.
