Tether is allowed to live by the US government and even works with them to freeze sanctioned wallets because Tether keeps buying US Treasuries and keeps increasing dollar-equivalents without the Fed creating more debt. It's basically a shadow CBDC running on an SEC-controlled PoS chain (Ethereum). That's the real reason the US allows Tether to print and BTC to pump; there isn't enough actual-dollar liquidity for whales to cash out so BTC+Tether are stranded assets unless you use them directly as currency or to feed a CEX fiat card... or unless the price of XMR gets bid up enough to provide exit liquidity to a private chain. The laser eye HODLtards and people who flee to Tether in downturns are BOTH being played for simps.
