So you take some of their money, and you take some of their companies and than little by little you slowly take more and more until you're unrecognizable as a country and anything your country makes is actually just a subsidiary company of America and there's a Mcdonalds on every footstep and English being spoken in your nations capital

You've become a colony without being called a colony

Unironically a Military style traditional take over would never be able to achieve this death spiral of loans and cultural bombardment
