The stock pumping is one thing but the rapidly falling cost of solar panels decreases the likelihood of solar tracking gaining a much higher market share relative to panel sales or a high profit margin. Solar panels don't have to gather as much energy as possible when they're dirt cheap and there is plenty of room for them. Similarly it won't be the most efficient panel that wins, just one that has the lowest cost per kWh over time.
