This sounds like a good thing yo get into but I feel like I'll be in over my head or I'll fuck up the taxes or something. /biz/ has convinced me I'm potentially missing out on something great. I don't really understand what ETH even does, just that it's a good tech that people are gonna go crazy for in the next few days and make the price rocket. Could I just buy some ETH and hold it until I make some serious gains?

That's just hideous tax rates. You gave me fucking cold sweats, I've only just started investing here in Australia. As far as I can tell short term gains is taxed here at the full capital gains tax rate, which I think is equal to the income tax rate you paid that year, If any aussies could set me straight, it would be appreciated.

I know it's a pipe dream for most people, myself more than most.
But how feesible do you think it would be to get a job at an IB without a degree but an impressive investment portfolio?
What if you could show that the time you would've spent at uni was used really well investing, learning the trade so to speak
My only other options currently are go to a middle of the table uni (UK), really dedicate myself there and try for LSE for a masters.
I also have a relative at Deutsche bank, which might help a little in terms of not having a degree - if I have something else to show for it.
Don't ask me to show you what I've got because I don't really have enough money to get into it right now, but I do have time
