>oh and before I finished my podcast I would be remiss if I didn't spend some time talking about an investment that I feel is worth its weight in gold
>prostate massagers
>because when you're investing in gold, you're making a very specific bet
>it's a bet that unending deficit spending and money printing is eventually going to have some bad consequences
>and this is a sensible bet I mean if it won't, then why don't we just print ten quadrillion dollars and make every American a millionaire? that's nuts!
>but that's the reality we live in, that's what the Keynesians believe, it's nuts
>and when reality is nuts what do you need? you're going to need to be a little nuts yourself, and more importantly to bust a few nuts yourself
>and that's why I think every gold investor should have one percent of their portfolios in prostate massagers
>because how else you gonna nut
>anyways that's all for now, bye

>Oh and before I forget I would be remiss if I didn't spend some of today's podcast talking about these so called black "people".
>First of all that term is misleading. And you see it thrown around all the time, black people this, black people that. But it's wrong. Because you've got to ask yourself, what IS a person?
>A person is a human being, a member of homo sapiens, but more importantly a person is an INTELLIGENT human being who qualifies for the legal test of personhood. Namely, being able to understand the consequences of their actions.
>And so you've got to ask yourself, do these black "people" qualify? Do they understand the cause and effect of their own decisions and actions?
>Would a group who understands the consequences of their actions be thirteen percent of the population but fifty percent of the murders? Would a race who understands the consequences of their actions burn down their own grocery stores and then act baffled when their communities suffer from "food deserts"? No, obviously not that's just common sense.
>So no, they're not "people" and if you look at most of them they're not even really "black" either. I mean some like Wesley Snipes are, but most of them are brown. So the more accurate, the correct term, is brown apes.
>Anyways so getting back to Bitcoin, it's a bubble and it's going to pop, and when it does...

So what happens after this? Well if you're sitting in JPM/HSBC's shoes you have two paths forward.
The first is you can take your licks and go back to business as usual. However if gold/silver demand increases (which if there is a gap between retail physical prices and "spot price" it will) and the arbitrage opportunity persists, you will get your bullshit called and you WILL have to stand for delivery.
The second is you can stop trying to keep price low. This is actually beneficial for you as well since you are one of, if not the, largest holders of the physical metal on earth. Sure you won't make as much money as you did controlling the entire market, but you'll still come out ahead with a decent profit.
What we have seen since March is that the big banks have been taking the second option. The house account of JPM has an almost non-existent short presence now. Scotiabank is exiting the market entirely. What this has led to is the spot prices of the metals rising, and a shrinking of the retail premium.

>But anon why does any of this matter for COMEX?

When JPM was swinging its dick around all the time determining prices, COMEX was just a price taker. They were never meant to be a physical delivery service. When they get their shit called, especially during a time when it was =hard to source new gold and silver (lockdown), there is a real risk of force majeure and a default.
HOWEVER if the shorts back off and don't get squeezed, then prices are allowed to rise naturally and what happens? Well the demand for physical delivery begins to slow to the point where COMEX can afford to actually deliver.
Either way is good for metals prices. If shorts try and come back, they will get squeezed, and price will pump up in a big short squeeze. If they don't, price will rise slowly and naturally because metals only go up.
Tl;dr COMEX probably won't default since the shorts have backed off, and there's only a risk of default from multiple back to back short squeezes.

Right now:
>every major index crashing
>gold and silver kind of dipping but not really
>dollar (as measured by $UUP) slowly going up
>Trump and Mnuchin already discussing next stimulus package

It's like pottery.
