ford has low profit margin on cars, huge profit margin on trucks

they are also preparing for electric vehicles in a few years

so instead of spreading themselves too thin, they are stopping their less profitable division, and focusing on making profits, while they finish testing and bugfixing electric vehicles to make them profits in the future

seems prudent, seeing how they were the only car company that didnt go bankrupt or need bailout money last time a crash happens

and they havnt stopped making cars globally, just in america since they dont bring in profits

and they still make mustangs, their number one selling cars
they are just pausing their unprofitable divisions so that they can be reworked and made profitable, and preparing for future markets, all while continuing to churn out units for their big money making divisions, which sounds prudent to me

tbqh I'm suprised they didnt do this sooner

a based one at that

protip: if you include contractors and company vehicles, 9/10 work trucks are ford F-series

the only people who buy chevy trucks are retards who never haul more than 200lbs or so in their truck bed, or people showing off how big their dick must (not) be since they drive such a YUGE vehicle

construction companies always go with a ford, contractors too

ford doesnt need any cars besides their Mustang

and within a few years youll see F unleash a bunch of new electric vehicles, to put the final nail in tesla's coffin

its not like people use chevys on the job anywhere

t. someone from michigan surrounded by dozens (40+) different car plants

>apple can get away with this because they sell a brand name, but a company that sells things people actually use should know better
people dont use chevy trucks for anything besides overcompensating when they pick up highschoolers

>info: Records have been set in practically every metric for auto loans, as of late: Americans owe a record $1.1 trillion in loans; a record 20 percent of new car loans have 72 month terms; people are overall paying record amounts for a new car; and a record 6.3 million people are 90 days or more behind on their loans.
seems like less of an issue since its construction crews and contractors buying commercial vehicles, who buy trucks (huge margin vehicles) almost exclusively
ill admit that i dont know much on the financing side of the companies, but they are doing better business wise, leaps and bounds ahead of the 2000's, not only adding jobs, but also rebuilding factories from the ground up due to the factories old ages

ill admit i may be biased, im a big ford fan personally, ever since my older brother bought and restored a 69 mustang, even though i live in GM territory

t. a ME student with a couple dozen auto suppliers and a dozen more plants belonging to the main auto companies within a 50 mi radius of my house
(michigan)
