I live like pic related because I look at the prices for these places like Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Kohl's, etc. and I just can't be fucked into spending hundreds of dollars on an end table or throw pillows. Tbh it's kind of bullish because women spend money at these stores to decorate their places and women are the ultimate consoomers. I don't even like buying permanent things like furniture because then it becomes my problem every time I need to move or clean. I bought a whole bunch of IKEA Kallaxes and Linnmons in like 2017 and they've been plaguing me ever since because now I have to deal with lugging them around and finding places for them for the rest of my life.

As someone who lived this, if you are an autistic loner like me and most people on this board, it is a huge meme. I sat on my desktop in one room shitposting on /smg/ and never used any of the other rooms in the house. I didn't furnish the place, open the windows, use the fireplace, barely used the kitchen, most of the rooms sat empty, the garage was empty except for my car, the front door accumulated cobwebs from lack of use, it was actually kind of depressing. You think it is your forever home and you'll be at your job forever and then COVID happens and you have to change cities. Now I'm paying mortgage/utilities/HOA on an empty townhome and rent/utilities for 1 br apartment at the same time while waiting for my old place to sell. I realized housing is a meme and I will never use any part of a house except where I use the computer and sleep. It doesn't matter what it looks like on the inside because I will never host parties anyway. Lel whenever my parents came over the biggest complaint was that there was nowhere to sit and no TV.
