Not really Eastern Europe but I was NEETing cozily in rural Siberia every summer-fall between 2015 - 2020 on a $150k portfolio with ~10% yield. I had a mix of Russian sovBonds, equities on the MOEX, crypto staking and short options selling in my US accounts. Unfortunately I don't think any of those are viable yield strategies anymore.
Disclaimers: I already had a commieblock flat, a car, and family in the area who share food and other stuff. My expenses were pretty much the following:
>internet ~$7 / month
>utilities ~$2 / month
>petrol @ ~$2/gal = $100 / month (long 5 hr drives)
>food ~$20 / month
I suppose if my food weren't supplemented by family it would cost me $200 / month.

In my observation, Eastern Europe Vyshehrad-zone is pure suffering because you'd expect costs of stuff like food and fuel to be less than western europe, but in-store prices are the same or even higher. I think the only cost of living benefit there is in real estate.

I am about halfway moved out, to Siberia. Posted about it a few times already. Slowly transferring my wealth between US and RF, not raising any flags, and right now sucking out a few more $USD worth of wageslaving in the US while I can. It was my plan B turned plan A. Disclosures: I already speak rusky and I married and had kids with a girl from that area. Otherwise I probably wouldn't do it.

I am already half way out. Own property in Siberia. Addendum is, you can't move there to make it; you need to have made it already and then live their while financially independent. That's why I got a few years of wagecucking in the US left before I'm there neeting full-time.

Very. But she can't handle living in the US or Europe. She just wants to garden and raise kids.

It is pretty comfy. The plot of land is very fertile - cabbage, onions, tomato, literally everything grows. Neighbors have chickens. Last year they gave us 4 and I was eating eggs like gaston. In-laws have 2 cows that make unlimited dairy. Wild raspberries everywhere. The basics of life.

At the same time I can get unlimited 4G internet from MTS for like $6 per month.

Doing this now with a house in Siberia. Wageslaving in the US for a few more years then retiring at age 30 in my dacha.

Plan B soon to be Plan A is pic related cabin in Siberia. Cost me about $9k for the land and a small izbushka. Building more on it every summer. 6 months there then 6 months working in the US. I wanted to get a cozy primary residence in the US but that just seems so unobtainable...

I had the same idea but fast tracked it by getting land and a cabin in Siberia. $200k invested will set me for life there. Just a couple more years of rat racing in the US...

>It really does get better?
It does and I can't really explain it. In my 20s I put in so much hussle, like over 9k job applications with no effect. My current job I didn't even apply for, got scooped in via connections. Now I'm getting more unsolicited offers. About the girls is also true. And they say your dick stops growing by age 25, but I swear mine even feels thicker since I hit 30. Its like you pass the Pink Wojak / Cozy Pepe barrier at that number.

About Russia, I'll still go through with it, but more money saved up can't hurt. Pic is my yard.

Its definitely worth it. I bought some land in Siberia and do some farming every summer. Can survive there with $300 per month. Retiring next year at age 27.

I paid about $5k for a 30 coт. plot in Siberia. Built a cabin on it and a few other structures. Overall spent like $12k. I live there for 6 months over the summer and go back to the US to wageslave over the winter.
