only rent is cheaper in eastern euro shitholes
median wage
i won't talk about all of eastern europe, but i'll talk about greece and latvia (used to date one and i know about rent and groceries there)

greece:
>have median wage of 890 after tax (lucky to have an 800 euro wage if you're under 35 however)
>rent is 400 to live in a shitty neighborhood
>groceries are around 150-200 if you're not buying expensive shit
>electricity/water another 50, again, with not much use
>transportation is 30 (assuming you're using public transit and not a car)
rest is left to save up and spend on other shit

latvia
>rent is 300 to live in a shithole
>groceries a tiny bit cheaper, maybe 130-180 a month
>electricity/water/heat 50
>transit is more expensive, probably another 50

you automatically lose in life if you're not born in a top tier country
you're lucky in eastern euro shitholes to be left with 200 euros at the end of the month
and what would you do with them? invest them, or just put them away for expenses that can come out of the blue?
