Sure the dividends might not be as predictable as KO, but the whole point of owning a stock is that you plan on selling at some point.

You are trading future growth for money here and now. It just depends on your outlook on life. If you're not spending all your dividends each month there is really no point though. The compound annual growth rate of high yield dividend stocks and dividend focused ETFs has historically been lower than a S&P 500 or total US market fund.
