Aren't merger votes a sell the news event?

(pic related is very outdated, we had more SPACs IPO this year than all previous years combined)

There are more than 300 SPACs on the market right now. The time of easy SPAC plays is over.
Pic related is not relevant anymore.
Time to move on.

CFII is a SPAC, it was created by rich dudes who are bored and want to buy out another company. Sometimes they know what company they want ahead of time, sometimes they just choose a sector and go from there.
So the first thing they do with a SPAC is create an IPO to get investors like you and I interested. The gamble for us is that we don't know what company they want to buy out (initially). We can wait and find out, but by then the price has gone up a bit and there is less profit to be made.
CFII is wants to buy out this Smart Window company, and the vote on 3/5 will decide whether both parties agree or not. If they reach an agreement, stock goes up, everybody makes money. If not, stock goes down, you're left holding bags. Pic related.

Until you get a bit of a sense for it I'd recommend cashing out your initial investment once it reaches around 20$ and then just let the rest ride. There's also several large dips that pretty much every SPAC follows which gives opportunity to buy back in at lower prices. Always sell before the merger. That's about it.

It's interesting tho that SPACs get SO pumped after an announcement nowadays. It's like everyone's aware of the SPAC curve and try to front run it more and more, destroying the pattern.

the thing about BB is it isn't a company in trouble.

They just settled a lawsuit with facebook over patents, then sold their cell patents to huawei, now they are all in on cybersecurity

Even if the shit goes down you shouldn't really be worrying about them going under or something

At this point you might as well buy a whole-market large-cap fund and be done with it.
Choose 2 ETFs.
