its main issue of course is speed, but other than that its scalable.
the speed isn't bad enough to push away zoom zoom heads once KDA has narraritive going for it because everything else about it is so awesome.

To answer your original question, 40 BTC should be enough to make it, and will likely get you over your $10M retirement target.
