I don't think you understand in what a bad way commercial real estate is, lenders have been working with borrowers extending ballon payments hoping for rates to drop. The farther we go without any slow down or rate cuts there's a lot of commercial real estate debt that is going to have to be refinanced at much, much higher rates. It's a slow brewing shit storm and it might not be on the news headlines anymore but it's a very big fucking deal that will be back in the headlines. Loans have been extended hoping for a cut but the farther this clown economy goes and there's ZERO talk of cutting rates which means all these ballon CRE loans are a massive ticking time bomb.

What if I believe the government itself is causing the squeeze? The people being squeezed are the financial equivalent of leeches, just because they've embedded themselves in high places doesn't mean they're actually necessary for anything to function, rather they've actually drained so much out that the system has almost ceased functioning completely. Any kind of political force trying to make institutional changes now necessitates removing these people as a prerequisite before they can even start making policy.
