The real issue though is that the mass immigration is counter-productive to the supposed stated aims of most leftists. It is bringing in a racial underclass expected to do menial jobs for below market pay. This could not be more racist, or work more to the bankers and labor exploiters favor.

From a workers point of view, that certainly defines immigrant advocates as 'excessively altruistic', when the real stated goals of the ruling class are destroying our labor value. And this is in a west where labor values steadily fell with the loss of unions. Dont pretend bernie is pro union. Doesn't change the fact. Workers have no leverage anymore and they somehow think this is in their best interest. There's a nice correlation between declining union memberships, stagnant wages, and disproportional worker:exec pay. It's not just a coincidence.
